What You Can Do To Help
Please check if you are eligible, if you are and you want to help, please do one of the following:-
Are you a Blood Donor?
If you are already a blood donor give blood as soon as possible, and ask to be put on the bone marrow register. Registration takes four weeks.
To become a new blood and bone marrow donor !
To become a new blood and bone marrow donor call the Blood Transfusion Help-Line 0345-711711
To become only a bone marrow donor !
If you don't want to be a blood donor but want to help call the Anthony Nolan Trust on 0901 8822234("Calls Cost 25p per minute") or visit them at www.anthonynolan.com who will send you a bone marrow registration kit for you to take to your own Doctor.
Fast Track Registration !
contact the blood transfusion help line on 0345 711711. Find out where the nearest blood donning session is and go along, asking beforehand to also be tested for the bone marrow register and donate the blood for that along with the normal pint.
Spread the word
Spread the word to your family, friends & colleagues. Download a poster from the web site and put it up, there’s been one spotted in Guam all ready.
E-mail everyone who might help, the more people who register the more chance Molly & children like her have.
But do it today - Molly-Ann needs a bone marrow transplant in September 2000 and it takes about 4 weeks to get on the register. Notes:
To be eligible you must be: Aged 18-40, in general good health, weigh over eight stone, women must not be pregnant, women with children under the age of 12 months cannot join or donate marrow during that time, if you had any body piercing or tattoos in the previous 12 months you are also ineligible.
